Its Quiz Night on Saturday, when Scally sets the questions. As is the case on every third Saturday in the month, Scally will be hosting teams of no more than four people, paying £2 a head. All the money collected goes into the prize pot, with cash prizes awarded in each round. There are normally three rounds, although sometimes Scally likes to slip in a music round, and the quiz normally gets going at about 8.30pm and runs to about 11pm. Although some of you will be away on your summer holidays, we’re expecting enough in to make a decent night for all.
We have a bit of our mix on our TV screens this weekend. We start tonight with a mix of cricket and football. The first test between England and the Windies is on now and runs through the evening to around 10pm. However, we also have 20/20 cricket on Sky Sports Mix tonight from 7pm, between Sussex and Essex, with both sides in with a chance of making it into next week’s quarter finals. And, just to confuse things further, Sky is also showing Burton Albion’s home game against Appy Arry’s Birmingham from 7.45pm. Basically, if nobody’s watching one of the cricket games and you want to watch the football, please ask at the bar. But please don’t do as one member used to do and wait for the viewer (s) to disappear to the loo or go for a smoke and then ask for the TV to be switched over.
Tomorrow we kick off at Saturday lunchtime with Swansea-Man United at 12.30 on Sky, before the Test gets going at 2pm. We’ll be watching the results come through from 3pm and then at 5.30 we’ll be showing Stoke’s game against Arsenal on BT from 5.30pm. We can also show Sunderland-Leeds on Sky at 5.30 Banno but you’ll need to make sure nobody’s watching the cricket first. The TVs will go off for the quiz.
On Sunday, we start with a Championship game in the Premiership, when Huddersfield host Newcastle at 1.30 on Sky. The cricket comes on at 2pm, on whichever TV Scally isn’t watching, and then at 4pm we’ve got one of the biggest games of the season so far, when Spurs take on Chelsea at Wembley on Sky. That game will be on both screens if we have a decent crowd in.
That’s not the end of the weekend because on Monday night we have the fag end of the test match, if its still going and also another cracking Premiership match, when Man City play Everton at 8pm.
