fter a great weekend in which we’re sure we made loadsamoney for St Peters & St James’s Hospice, next weekend we switch to our regular Open Mike Night. This is being organised by the Club’s own Richard Ellis, who plays a mean tune himself and is always a good night on Saturday. Proceedings normally get going by about 8.30 and Richard already has some great talent lined up to entertain us. In addition, if you would like show us all what you can do, you’ll be very welcome. And don’t worry, rumours that your chair will be singing Blueberry Hill in honour of the late, great Fats Domino are untrue. Ain’t that a shame.
Meanwhile, while you’re waiting for Saturday, we have some great sport for you to watch on our TVs. We start tonight at 8pm, when Burnley play Newcastle in the final game of the weekend’s Premiership programme. That will be followed tomorrow night with Champions League football, with Man Utd playing Benfica on one screen and Roma against Chelsea on the other. Those should be two great games but we’ll also have more on Wednesday night with Napoli playing Man City on one screen and Spurs-Real Madrid on the other. For reasons best known to themselves, Sky have also chosen to show Villa’s game away at Preston on Wednesday night and, if nobody’s in to watch either City or Spurs, we will be showing that for the benefit of a certain regular.
All games on Tuesday and Wednesday will start at 7.45 pm and, apart from the Villa match, they will be on BT.
On Thursday night we start our Europa Cup coverage at 6 pm with Lyons hosting Everton on BT and then at 8.05 pm we’ll be showing Arsenal against Crvena Zvedza (easy for you to say), also on BT
That’s not the end of the week’s sport because on Friday night we’ll be showing Wolves against Fulham in Championship action on Sky.
