On Friday evening it’s Light Up Hassocks Night in the village and the Club is sharing a stand with Reflex Hairdressers, on the High Street opposite the chippie. As a part of that, we need volunteers to come down and help us set up and to help us man our patch. The road will be closed at 4pm, so we’ll be setting up then. We’ll need someone to help us carry our gear down at about 3.30. Once we’re up and running, we’d appreciate any help people can bring representing our Club to the people of the village, signing people up for membership and doling out freebies, before we start packing up at about 7-7.30pm. We’d really appreciate any help you can bring to us, so please let us know you can come.
In the meantime we have plenty of football for you to look forward to on our screens this week. Tonight, you can come and watch the Chair as he sits watching his beloved QPR though his fingers, as they go down to their inevitable London derby/Sky TV hoodoo at home to Brentford. That kicks off at 7.45pm, just as all the other games we’re showing this week will.
Tomorrow night we don’t have the Brighton-Palace game on because it isn’t on. Instead, BT have chosen to bring us Watford versus Man Utd, which should be a cracking game, and there’ll be a host of people keeping track of results elsewhere, including down at the Amex, in the Club.
On Wednesday evening BT bring us Everton against West Ham, no we don’t understand why they chose that one either. We get a break from football on Thursday before the week closes on Friday with a choice of either Leeds and Villa on Sky on Friday night, as well as Fylde against Wigan Athletic in the FA Cup at 7.55pm on BBC1.
