League Cup semis showing live this week

First of all thanks very much to all of you that turned out for our quiz last night. It was a really pleasant surprise to see so many out on what is always our toughest month and Scally was delighted to have so many punters. The next one will be on the third Saturday of the month again, as it normally is, which is February 20th, and we’d love to see you all in again. Also, now that we’re getting decent numbers at most of our quizzes, we’d love to revive the raffles we always used to do on quiz nights. We need people to organise prizes, as well as sell and fold tickets on the night. We’re open to having a charity take this on for us – St Peters’ and St James’ maybe? – and all you have to do apart from that to raise the money is to lodge the cash temporarily with the Club so that we can get it counted and logged for tax compliance reasons. If this is something you fancy taking on, or if you have a charity that might want to do this, please get in touch.

This week we’ll be showing some great sport on our screens. Tomorrow night should be a cracker in the Premier League between Swansea and Liverpool, kicking off at 8pm on Sky.

Then we have League Cup Semi Final action, starting on Tuesday evening with Bristol City against Manchester City, kicking off at 19.45, before on Wednesday we’ll be treated to Arsenal against Chelsea at 8pm. We finish our week with Friday night’s FA Cup match between Yeovil and Man Utd, kicking off at 19.55. That’s on the BBC of course, so some may opt to watch it at home, but if you feel that domestic harmony will be best preserved by watching the game away from home, we are here for you.

We’re looking forward to seeing you all in the Club this week and, of course today, when the Saints try to live with Spurs at 4pm.

And please don’t forget, you have just 10 days left in which to renew your membership. Get a move on.
