The Club’s going all soppy and romantic on Wednesday, St Valentine’s night. We don’t expect those of you that will be celebrating the evening together to spend the night in the Club. But if you’re going for a meal in the village, or ambling home after, we’re offering a small bottle of Prosecco free to every couple that comes in to the Club on Wednesday night. We’d love to see you come in and share a bit of your evenings with us.
As if that wasn’t enough, we’re also staging our February quiz in the Club on Saturday evening. Scally’s quizzes are building a healthy audience of loyal regulars and if you enjoy a good quiz here’s your chance to join in. The quiz starts at around 8.30pm, but it’s a good idea to be in earlier because we can get quite full on quiz nights. Scally charges £2 per person for teams of up to four each. The quiz is laid out in three sections, with prize money given at the end of each one.
This week we also have plenty of sport on our screens for you to enjoy this week. We start tonight with Chelsea’s game at home to West Brom, our President’s team when he isn’t being a Spurs fan. That kicks off at 8pm, so if you wat to watch it you’d better get your skates on.
Tomorrow night we’re showing Champions League football, with Basel-Man City on one screen at 7.45pm and Juventus-Spurs on the other. Then on Wednesday, if you’re not being soppy and romantic, we have Porto-Liverpool in the Championship on both screens, kicking off at 7.45pm.
Then on Thursday we have some early Europa Cup football with Ostersund taking on Arsenal at 6pm. We also have the Genesis Cup golf teeing off at 8pm on Thursday night.
Friday starts the weekend off for us with FA Cup action. Chelsea-Hull, on BT at 8pm, gives us the intriguing pairing of Chelsea supporting Vince Elphick, when he’s not supporting Workington Town of course, facing up against his Hull supporting wife Julia – we won’t be stirring it at all . . . oh no.
