Golf players needed to represent the Club

We’ve got some fun lined up for you on the golf course and we need to see you volunteering to play for us against the Dogs Golf Society at Horsham Golf and Country Club on Saturday April 14th. We’re taking them on in a straight competition and we’d like to see as many of our golfers as possible turning out for us.

The day will start at 10am, with basic breakfast and coffee/tea before the first tee-off about an hour later. Our players will be matched against the Dogs in as many fourballs as we can get away with, plus the odd two-ball if necessary, so please get your names up as soon as possible. A form can be found in the Club, on the noticeboard by the fruity in the bar area.

After the golf, the players will be retiring to our Club for prize-giving and food, with the barbie running from their return into the early-evening. Clearly, it will not just be golfers who will benefit from the provision of hot goodies because members will be able to buy from the barbie as well. Please be as welcoming to the opposition’s golfers as you can during their short stay in the Club.

The cot of this extravaganza will be £35, for breakfast and the golf, plus presumably prizes. Your Chair may also be passing round the hat to sell raffle tickets to support his latest obsession, a defibrillator for the Club.

On the evening before the Golf day, Friday April 13th, we will be holding our annual generating meeting (AGM). This is an important event in the Club’s calendar and we’d be very pleased to see you there. You will hear how your Club is doing and what we’re looking to do in 2018. This will also be your chance to nominate any proposals for rule changes – all you need is the wording of your proposed rule change, a proposer and a seconder. If you are proposing a rule change, you need to get it in by March 15th.
