Three big dates coming up for your diaries

he Club is just finalising the details of three big events in the calendar that we know many of you will be keen on.

First of all, we are less than a month away from the Club’s first ale festival of the year. Starting on Saturday May 5th, we’ll be running into Bank Holiday Monday, May 7, with a range of ales on offer plus one or two ciders. We’re just choosing the ales at the moment and we will be saying what we’re up to as soon as we get the,m lined up. We usually use the May festival to put a number of summer ales up but we will be catering to all tastes. Please watch this space, along with our website and Facebook page for more info as it comes out. Also, Pete and Chris Andrews, if you’re around, we’d like to use your services publicising the weekend so can one of you let us know when you’re around please? We will be open to non-members on Bank Holiday Monday and, weather permitting, we’ll break out the Club barbie as well..

Second, on August 3rd, we’ll be repeating last year’s trip to Glorious Goodwood, but with a difference. We’ll be leaving Hassocks at around 10am that morning to travel via a few pints and some lunch along the way, before spending the day at the racing at Goodwood. The bus will then bring us all back, getting to the Club at roughly 9pm. Members can sign up for two different packages here. For £35 each, you can have access to the Lennox enclosure and for £50 the Gordon enclosure. Organiser Paul Murrell can tell you about the difference between the two packages. The Club will provide refreshments on the coach while members will need to pay for their food and beers, plus their wagers while off the coach.

The third and final announcement is to give you the heads up that we have some special entertainment lined up for Saturday May 26, bank holiday Saturday. That evening we’ll be hosting Lorelei Rock, one of the best two piece bands in the local area. They can do anything and they do it very well, so we’re sure you’ll have a great evening.

We’l keep looking for ways of keeping you all entertained and we’re also open to suggestions as to what we can do for you doing forward, so please if you see something special tell us about it and we’ll see if we can line it up for all.
