What a great night in the Club last night. A fantastic atmosphere in the Club with the all the mood swings you could imagine, before everyone went absolutely loony when Dier’s penalty got us over the line. And now we get the chance to do it all over again on Saturday afternoon.
England play Sweden in their quarter final, which kicks off at 3pm on Saturday afternoon. We’ll be open from Noon that day and if you’re planning to watch it in the Club, we advise you to get there as early as possible to secure yourself a decent seat. As a further incentive, we’re running the barbie from 1pm, so you can grab lunch as well.
Be warned, the barbie will stop working at 2.45pm sharp and will not start up again until after the game. This is to give the barbie workers every opportunity to watch the game, which is only fair. We’ll have the usual selection of burgers and sausages on sale, plus possibly the odd dirty great mushroom for our veggie friends – but be warned the veggie option will be cooked on the same grill as the meat. So get to the Club nice and early for both food and football, as well as a drink or two. We’ll also be well stocked with Prosecco for those that would prefer to sit in the sun outside. And if you can offer any help running the barbie, we’d be very grateful.
The England game’s not going to be the only sport on our TVs in the next few days. Tonight and tomorrow night we’ll have one day county cricket on, while the Greenbrier Classic golf will start on Thursday.
On Friday we get to see the first two World Cup quarter finals, with the second half of France-Uruguay when we open at 4pm and then Brazil-Belgium, which should be a cracker, on at 7pm.
Our first sport on Saturday will be the England game at 3pm and that will be followed at 7pm by Russia-Croatia.
Then on Sunday we have England-India in a 20/20 game which starts at 2pm and, on an alternate screen we’ll be showing the UK Grands Prix which starts at Brands Hatch at 2.10pm.
