On Sunday the Club is supporting Match 4 MacMillan, which will be a fund-raising event for MacMillan Cancer Support and will involve a number of teams. The event is an annual one that happens in memory of Sita Allen, a lady who used the Club a few years back and was sadly taken away by cancer. As a part of the day, the Club will be opening at 11am so that the players can come in and buy refreshments, but no booze sales before Noon in accordance with our licence. We’ll also be running the barbie on Sunday afternoon.
We’d love to see as many Club members as possible supporting the event. You can do that by buying raffle tickets, there is already a book of them behind the bar and the attached poster shows the range of prizes available. You can pop out and watch. And you can buy from the barbie. We’d love to raise as much money for the charity as possible.
In the meantime, we have a fairly quiet week ahead of us on the TVs. If you’re one of those odd people that likes to sit and watch darts repeatedly hitting, or just missing, the 60 zone on the board, we’ll have live darts on for much of the week. We’ll also have 20/20 cricket early on Thursday and Friday evenings and the Canadian Open golf will be on in each evening from Thursday through Sunday. We continue to look out for football friendlies on TV but with most of the Prem wandering around in Asia, Australia and the Americas its not looking good. Still. only a week and a half til the footy season starts, with the Football Leage and the Community Shield:-)
