Some Club housekeeping.
First of all, we’ve noticed a growing number of cigarette ends collecting outside the Club, especially around the snooker room fire door. Please can all members who smoke make sure that they use the bins we have provided by each of the doors to extinguish their cigarettes. Please don’t just flick them off into the middle distance or drop them to the floor to be ground into the concrete by stamping on them. And, given the dryness of the grass and other vegetation around the Club, please make sure that they are out – the best way to do that is to put them in the bins.
Secondly, we are hearing that there is a strict dress code in the Gordon stand that most of the members going to Goodwood will be in – please see below. We will be calling Goodwood to confirm this tomorrow and we’ll make sure everyone going knows but, for now, please plan to have a jacket and tie with you if you’re a man and make sure you’re wearing trousers and proper shoes, as opposed to trainers. Both sexes, definitely no jeans. Just be as smart casual as you can. We’re assuming that the final thing about fancy dress is aimed at Danny Donovan:-)

Gordon Enclosure: As our premier public enclosure at the Qatar Goodwood Festival we encourage gentlemen to wear a jacket and tie and for both ladies and gents to dress to impress. T-shirts, sleeveless tops (for men), sports attire, shorts or ripped/torn jeans are not permitted. Please do refer to The Goodwood Look page for style inspiration.
Lennox Enclosure: Our most relaxed enclosure at the racecourse, the Lennox Enclosure has no formal dress code.
Please Note: Fancy dress and sleeveless tops (for men) are not permitted in any enclosure.
