England are on our TVs again on Tuesday when the football team plays a friendly against Switzerland on Sky at 8pm. After the disappointment against Spain, when let’s face it their midfield was pretty impressive, we’ll hope for a return to winning against the Swiss. Of course the cricket may also be on when we open up at 5pm but, with a lead of over 400 and with three Indian wickets in the bag already it doesn’t look desperately likely.
Elsewhere in the week those desperate for football can watch Scotland against Albania tonight on Sky – it kicks off at 7.45pm. Otherwise we have a choice on Friday between the Birmingham-West Brom Championship match and Gloucester-Bristol at rugby union. Both kick off at 7.45pm, with the football on Sky and the rugby on BT.
Next weekend we have a busy weekend coming up. On Saturday we have Spurs-Liverpool on BT at lunchtime, plus Sussex’s semi-final against Somerset in the 20/20 finals day at 2.30pm. We’ll also have the usual results service so we’ll have to drop the rugby that starts at 3pm. In the afternoon – sorry about that. If Sussex reach the final, which starts at 18.45, we’ll show that as soon as control of one of the screens can be wrested from the Club’s resident Villa fan.
We’ll also be running the barbie in the afternoon. We’re doing this for the golfers who are going on our trip up to Bletchingley but there’ll be plenty of food for all.
And that brings us to the September Quiz. Proceedings start at 8.30pm and its £2 a person to take part in teams of up to four. There are cash prizes through the evening and its a load of fun. So please come down and support the quiz. For those of you worrying about Sussex in the event they make the final, we’ll have the match on our screens but we’ll have no commentary. And if you in to watch Sussex, please respect the quiz that’s going on around you. Better still, take part.
