we’ve got some great sport coming up for you in the Club this week, with League Cup action, the Ryder Cup and Championship football on the way.
The highlight will of course be the golf, which starts on Thursday. Of course. with our opening hours we can only show the closing stages of of the first day’s foursomes and fourballs on Friday but we will have the highlights on through the evening, starting at 6.30pm on one screen, Banno will be most upset if we don’t show the Leeds game then, and if you’re really keen we can show the highlights again from 10pm until we close. We’ll have the Ryder Cup on at least one screen through the days on Saturday and Sunday.
In the meantime we have League Cup games to look forward to. We start at 8pm tonight. Now there are some interesting looking games tonight, with Premiership teams travelling down to Championship clubs or even lower to face some potential banana skins. So obviously, Sky went for Man Utd-Derby as their game for tonight – presumably reflecting its long infatuation with Fat Frankie.
Then tomorrow Sky have gone for the obvious big game, showing Liverpool-Chelsea at 7.45pm in what should be a great game.
On Friday, as well as the Ryder Cup highlights we’ll be showing Sheffield Wednesday-Leeds in the Championship from 7.45pm.
Then we get to a weekend where the highlight will be Saturday evening’s gig by Acoustica, which kicks off at about 8.30pm playing acoustic versions of some great classics. If you haven’t seen them and you like your music a little heavier than most, this will be a great evening.
On the sporting front we can look forward to Chelsea-Liverpool, in the league this time, the Russian Grands Prix and, a special treat for our many Palace fans, a Monday night appearance on the box.
So lets see as many of you as possible in the Club this week and over the weekend.
