If you’d like to enter one or all of the Club’s snooker or billiards competitions, you have until the end of October.
The Club runs a range of annual competitions for members, some handicapped and some reserved for less accomplished players, so if you play the game but you’re not sure you can live with the scratch players, you will have a good chance to do well at a different level. If you would like to have a go, you can find a table posted up on the back wall in the snooker room, by the nearest table to the bar area. All you have to do is fill in your name, your telephone number (which will only be used for the purposes of this competition), and then tick the boxes for the competitions you want to enter. If you’re unsure what the competitions are, the best person to ask about them is Banno.
Also, the Club committee decided last night that we cannot allow members to run tabs behind the bar. We feel you all have plenty of opportunity to pay with cards or cash and we’d rather not expose our bar staff to positions where they have to remember what has been put on the tab and then agree it with an individual at the end of the evening. Thanks all for your cooperation in this.
Finally, those of you craving football on the TVs, there will be plenty of internationals on over the next week, some of which we haven’t bothered to list because they don’t involve British teams, but if you’d like something on please ask at the bar. England will be playing Croatia away at 7.45pm in the UEFA Nations on Friday night and then Spain at the same time on Monday night at 7.45pm. We’ll be showing both on all our screens and we’d love to find ourselves watching the games with you.
