We’ve got some great special events lined up for you over the next month.
First of all, Scally will be setting the October quiz this Saturday. It kicks off at 8.30pm and is open to teams of four at a cost of £2 per person. We know quite a few of you are coming and we’re really looking forward to seeing you all.
Early on Saturday we could also do with some help from members, when we send out membership renewal notices. There are well over 400 of you now, so the job of stuffing, addressing and posting the envelopes is a pretty big one. If anyone can help us with this task, we’ll be gathering in the Club from about 2.30pm.
On Saturday October 27th, the week after the quiz, we’ll be staging our Halloween party. We start at 5pm with a party for the kids at which there will be apple bobbing, face painting and all sorts of other entertainment. We’ll also be running a barbie and a raffle and all proceeds raised will go to St Peters & St James’s Hospice.
Then in the evening its the adults’ turn to celebrate Halloween when we have Lorelei Rock entertaining us. The band should be going from about 8.30p,m and they’ll be on until 11pm. It’ll be a great day and we’re really looking forward to it.
Then we’ll give you a bit of a rest but there are two things happening in November that you need to be planning for now. First of all on November 24th its Pie NIght. We need two sorts of people in the Club that evening, pie makers and pie eaters. The idea is simple, the pie makers bake pies for judgement in our pie-making competition, and with a bit of luck win, making sweet or savoury pies. We then auction those pies off to the pie eaters and all the money raised goes to charities. Its a great night and we always have a lot of fun so please pencil it into your diaries. And if you’re making a pie, start planning it now.
Finally, the Club is looking to take a pitch at Light Up Hassocks on the evening of November 30th. We’d really appreciate some volunteers to help represent us to the village, either by helping us to erect a stand at the beginning, by manning it and chatting up passers by, or by helping us to take it all down. If yu can help, please email back so that we can have an idea of numbers.
