We’ve got a busy week ahead in the Club, with Danny M’s disco on Friday night and our Christmas Raffle on Saturday night. As well as that we have some great sport on our TVs through the week and also news of a Christmas football prediction competition for you to enjoy.
So starting off with Danny M’s disco. He’ll be cranking up the turntables at around 8pm on Friday night and his act is expanding. He’s now proposing to do requests for £2 a go, with all proceeds going to charity – be warned, if you ask for something corny he’ll whack the price up with Boney Em costing at least £25. He’s also including a comedy turn, when Club member Paul Cox tells the tall story and by the sound of things makes a few of us, including your esteemed Chair, feel pretty uncomfortable.
And of course on Saturday we’ll have Christmas Raffle Night, so please get your tickets and the money associated with them in behind the bar as soon as possible this week.
On to sport and let’s start with the prediction competition. Neil Janes has put together the attached Christmas Tipsters competition to keep you entertained through the festive period. This competition is open to all comers as well as Club members and funds received in excess of the costs of prizes will go to the Help for Heroes charity. The cost of entering is £5 a pop and all you have to do is predict the scores of the 20 games listed, forecast the number of goals scored, answer a set of questions true or false and pick the four top goalscorers from those games. Easy innit? You need to get your entry forms back to the Club before Noon on Boxing Day, because the first game starts at 12.30pm that day.
That brings us to the sport on TV this week. First of all there’s darts all week, just ask at the bar if you want it on. And there’s football with our first game, at 7.45pm tonight, bringing us Derby-Forest in the Championship. Then tomorrow we’re showing the Leicester-Man City League Cup quarter final on BT and that will be followed by Arsenal-Spurs in their quarter final at the same time on Wednesday, also on BT.
