We have some great stuff to look forward to in the Club over the next month or so, so please put as many of the following into your diaries – we’d love to see you in enjoying yourselves.
First of all, Easter is sneaking up on us and we have a couple of things on that we think you’ll be excited by.
On Good Friday evening, April 19th, we’ll be enjoying Danny M’s disco. For those of you that don’t know Danny M he’s the real McCoy, a top DJ who worked in the Clubs of Ibiza and Mallorca during the 1990s. So Danny M knows what he’s doing, he has all the kit and he knows his audience. You need to start your Easter break enjoying what is going to be a great night at the Club.
Then on the night after we’ll be slightly more sedate when we settle down to do the April quiz – that’s right, its also the third Saturday of the month and that means quiz night. We’ll be kicking off at about 8.30pm.
On Easter Sunday we have something for our snooker players, with the Jim Bibby Cup. This is a knock-out handicapped snooker competition and its open to all-comers, so you don’t have to be part of a team to take part. We’d love to have many of you honouring our late President by taking part and all you need to do to be in the draw is put your name down on the list in the snooker room.
On Saturday April 27th we’ll be hosting an open mike night, where Club members and non-members will be welcome either to enjoy the performers or to put themselves forward to perform. Our last open mike night went really well, so if you missed it come to the Club and enjoy the next one from about 8.30pm.
Then on early May Bank Holiday weekend we’re staging our real ale festival. We’ll be offering a wide range of ales, both local and from further afield and we’ll be starting our supping at lunchtime on Saturday May 4th, running through to closing time on Bank Holiday Monday, May 6th.
Bank Holiday Monday will also be a day where we’ll be calling for your aid in helping us do the Club’s bit in staging the May Fair which will be held on Adastra Park. right outside the Club, The Fair normally starts at Noon and we’ll need people to help on the two barbecues we’ll be running, to promote the Club to people coming in for drinks, to gather rubbish and generally to help us out. If you think you can help, please block the time off and let us know that you’re available to help us by replying to this mail or to the reminders that will be coming your way as the month progresses.
