April’s Quiz and plenty of football this weekend

We’re in for a great weekend at the Club. Top of the bill is our April quiz, which is on tonight. We kick off at 8.30pm, with Scally setting the questions. It’s always a good night, with loads of variety in the type of questions set, and we’d love to see you in enjoying it. There is a tiny entry cost, £2 a person in teams of up to four, but you’ll spend loads more than that just buying a round of drinks.

On our TVs, we’ve got loads of sport on. We start right now, with the West Brom-Liverpool game on Sky. Then we go on to our usual results service through the afternoon, while we can also show the snooker on screen, just ask at the bar. Then, at 5.15pm, we’ll show the first of this weekend’s FA Cup semi finals at Wembley, with Man Utd taking on Spurs. We’ll show that all the way through before the screens go off for the quiz.

Tomorrow we’ll start with Arsenal-West Ham in the Premiership, which kicks off at 1.30pm. That will be on one screen only because at 3pm, we’ll have Chelsea’s semi final against Southampton live on BT – given Gordon’s likely to be working then assume the Arsenal game will be on the screen nearest Adastra Hall and the cup game will be on the screen nearest the cricket club. At 4.30pm we have more Premiership action, with Man City-Swansea. Finally on Sunday, we’ll be showing some great golf with the Texas Open kicking off at 8pm.

That’s not the end of the weekend because on Monday night we have more Premiership action, with Everton-Newcastle. Then, next week there’s Champions League football for you to enjoy, as well as Europa Cup, of which more later.
