August Quiz Night coming up this Saturday

On Saturday night Scally is setting his August quiz for us in the Club. Quiz night is always a fun evening and we’d love to see you in enjoying this one. We have a fair number of new members in the Club and, if you’re one of those, the quiz gives you a nice gentle way of getting to know others in the Club, so why not give it a go.

The quiz kicks off at 8.30pm and is normally broken into three sections. The entry fee is £2 per person for teams of up to four people. All monies collected go back to the contestants in prize money and prizes are awarded at the end of each section. We normally finish at some time between 10.30pm and 11pm, so you’ll have a full night.

Meanwhile we have plenty of sport for you to look forwards on our TVs this weekend. On Saturday we;’ll be starting with the third test between England and India, which is showing on Sky. Then at 12.30 we’ll switch the screen nearest to the fire escape on to Cardiff-Newcastle – can Colin get his first ever Premiership win at last. From 3pm that screen will be showing the usual results service and then at 5.30pm we’re showing one of the big games of the month when BT brings us Chelsea-Arsenal. If needs be we’ll switch both screens to the football for that game.

On Sunday we start again at 12 with the cricket. Then at 2pm its Man City-Huddersfield in the Prem on Sky and at 4pm Brighton-Man Utd, so if you’re an Albion fan and you haven’t been able to get a ticket, come down to the Club and have a pint or two while watching in comfort.

That’s not the end of the weekend for us because on Monday we open with the end of the day’s play in the third test from 5pm and then at 8pm we’re showing Palace-Liverpool live on Sky.
