Looking forward to a drier weekend? Well we will be testing that because we’re breaking out the barbie for the first time this year on Saturday. We’re firing it up because we are supporting Mystic’s football tournament, which is happening on Saturday afternoon, so there will be a fair number of footballers in the Club rewarding themselves with a pint or two and a burger. That doesn’t mean that members are excluded from having a burger because you’ll be able to buy one from our masterchefs, who start working in mid-afternoon.
We’ll be running the barbie again two weeks later on June 3rd, which is when we’ll be selling food to both members and non-members. This is when we’ll be having an open day as a part of the Hassocks Twinning Association’s celebration in Adastra Park on that day. We’ll have more to say on this event a bit nearer the time but we will be asking members to help us on that day because last time we were a bit overwhelmed by the crowds in the park and the people who were coming in for a beer. We’ll also have a beer festival running from June 2nd to June 4th, open to members and their guests only June 2nd and on June 4th.
Finally, we’re running the barbie on June 10th, which is when Scotland and England meet in a World Cup Qualifier at 5pm that day.
