Well after the Play Off final excitement in the Club over the weekend, complete with Mr Redmore beaming like a Cheshire Cat at the end, we turn this week to the European finals. Tomorrow night we’ll be showing the Europa Cup Final, Arsenal-Chelsea, from that mecca of football, Baku. Yes, if you’re one of the unfortunate many who haven’t been able to get to Baku and you don’t have a subscription to BT, we do. We’ll be showing the game at 8pm and what better way to enjoy it than in the Club with a pint or two.
That will be followed on Saturday by the Champions League Final on Saturday at 8pm. Liverpool-Spurs could be a hell of a game and, to make a special day out of it, we’ll be breaking out the barbie from 5pm, to sell you burgers, chilli burgers and sausages pre-match. The barbie will be stopping at 7.45pm because the chef wants to watch the game as well as everyone else.
That’s the football, but there’s plenty more happening this week. The cricket World Cup starts this week and England’s first game will be against South Africa from opening time on Thursday to close of play. We’ve put that one up as a priority sporting event, which we’ll do with as many England games as we can, but there’ll be a game on most days and evenings through June and into July so if you fancy watching please ask at the bar.
Rugger buggers also have plenty to look forward to with the Premiership Final being played between Exeter and Saracens at 3pm on Saturday afternoon – that’ll finish just as the barbie sparks up. Also on Sunday at 3pm Sky Sports Action will be showing one of the highlights of the rugby year, with England-Barbarians playing. We’ll be showing the lot.
There’ll also be golf on from Thursday with the Memorial Tournament starting at around 7.30 each night and also the US Women’s Open.
