Coming up in December

As we approach Christmas we’re getting busier at the Club, so we have lots of housekeeping to keep you up to date with.

First of all, our December quiz is happening a week earlier than it normally is in the month, on this coming Saturday, Dec 9th. Scally says that he expects the Snowball fund to be won in this quiz, so you will need to be there. Please spread the word about the quiz because we get a decent crowd in these days and we don’t want anyone to miss out through not knowing about it.

Also this week, if you want to take part in our Christmas golf day on December 22, you need to get your name and deposit in this week because Aaron has to finalise numbers with Slinfold Golf Club by the end of this week. There is a signing on sheet on the noticeboard by the fruity or, if you can’t get into the Club, email this address before Thursday evening.

Finally on the admin front, for now, you have just two weeks to get your raffle tickets in. We need you to sell or pay for your raffle tickets as soon as possible, simply bring them in with the cash and hand them in at the bar. And you can have a pint as well. And if you’re feeling really keen, you can buy extra raffle tickets over the bar in the Club. The Christmas Raffle Night is on December 16th.

And for your entertainment, this week’s sport on TV. Tonight you can choose between Birmingham-Wolves in the Championship, or Slough against Fleetwood in the FA Cup. Both games should have started by the time this email goes out.

Tomorrow night we have Champions League football for you to enjoy, with Chelsea playing Atletico Madrid in what should be a great game to watch, and Manchester United hosting CSKA Moscow. Both games are on BT and kick off at 7.45 pm.

Then on Wednesday we’re showing Liverpool-Spartak Moscow and Shaktar Donetsk vs Manchester City – sorry Spurs fans but a home game against Hapoel Tel Aviv doesn’t sound that exciting.

On Thursday evening we’re watching Europa Cup games with Everton playing in Limassol for the 6pm game and then Arsenal hosting BATE Borisov at 8.05pm.

Finally on Friday evening we’re showing Sheffield United vs Bristol City in the Championship at 7.45 pm.
