February events for your diaries

We’re staging an Open Mike night in the Club next Saturday, Feb 9, with a load of local musicians coming in to entertain us. You don’t have to join in, just come and enjoy the different acts on show. But if you fancy having a go, either singing or playing, please do, we’d all love to see what you can do. And being the Club, you’ll get a kind audience. Proceedings should be kicking off at about 8.30pm and we’d love to see you in.

Then on the Saturday after, the 16th, we’ll be running our February quiz as usual. We’d love to see you in for that, with teams of four paying £2 each, cash prizes and lots of fun starting at 8.30pm.

One other date to look out for is March 2nd, when we are planning a race night. That should be great fun and we’ll be raising funds for charity on the night.

And on to this week’s sport on our TVs, we have Premiership action tonight, FA Cup football on Tuesday and Wednesday and, at the end of the week, Championship football.

So tonight we’re showing yer West Am at home to Liverpool in the Prem. That kicks off at 8pm and it should be a great game for both our Hammers fans and the shrinking violets who follow Liverpool.

Tomorrow night we’re in the FA Cup when BT bring us a potential giantkilling, Newport-Boro at 7.45pm. Tiny Newport did fantastically well to draw up at the Riverside and let’s hope they can do it again.

On Wednesday at 8pm we have another 4th round replay on with West Brom-Brighton, so if you haven’t got a ticket or you just don’t do midweek football away, why not come in and enjoy the match with a pint or two.

On Thursday evening we have the first of four nights of golf starting at 8pm, with the Pebble Beach Pro-Ams. Then our week finishes at 7.45pm on Friday with a top Championship match pitching the two Matts, Bolton and Redmore, against each other with Villanil-Sheff Utd.

That leads us in to a great weekend, with the Six Nations, including England-France on Sunday afternoon and some great Premiership football, especially Brighton-Burnley on Saturday afternoon and Man City-Chelsea on Sunday afternoon.
