We have some more great entertainment lined up for you this weekend, with Lorelei Rock playing at the Club on Saturday night. Lorelei Rock, if you haven’t seen them before, are a must-see – two professional musicians who’ve played with some of the greats belting out some classics. On bass, Paul keeps a rock steady beat or he can do the fancy stuff. Steve, the singer and lead guitarist belts out a number with great aplomb and accompanies himself with some great playing. You won’t regret coming in to enjoy them on Saturday night while those of us that are already in the know will be there to see them again.
Meanwhile, we also have some fabulous sport coming up this weekend, We start tonight with the Charles Schwab golf tourney from the US, which will be on most nights through to Sunday’s.
The highlights of the weekend will be the Football League play-offs, with some Club members interested. The first game, Newport-Tranmere on Saturday, will settle who goes up in the fourth promotion place from League 2 (4th division old money).Then on Sunday it’ll be League 1’s turn with Charlton-Sunderland fighting for the third promotion place. Finally on Bank Holiday Monday its Derby-Villa in the Championship. All three games kick off at 3pm and are being shown exclusively on Sky.
Also this weekend we’ll be showing England’s final two warm-up games ahead of the cricket world cup, with Australia on Sky at Noon on Saturday and then Afghanistan playing from midday on Bank Holiday Monday. We’ll also have the Monaco Grands Prix on Sky from 2.10pm on Sunday.
That’s it for the weekend but don’t forget next week we can look forward to two European Cup finals, each involving only English teams and England’s first game in the cricket world. And, next Saturday, June 1st, Aaron is running the barbecue ahead of the European Cup Final, Liverpool-Spurs, which will be on BT in the Club at 8pm.
