Merry Christmas – we’re open at 3pm today

The Club will be opening at 3pm tomorrow afternoon, so that those of you knocking off early for the festivities can pop in for some Christmas cheer. Please let us know if you feel that this is something we could do more regularly.

And we’ve got loads on for the next week or so so stay with us to find out what’s going on. We start tomorrow night when Danny M’s disco gets going from 8pm. Incidentally having the disco on means that footy fans will have to miss the Wolves-Liverpool game which is also on on Friday night.

Tomorrow night is Christmas Raffle Night, when all the prizes are drawn, We start at about 8.30 pm and, if we can get our compere to slow down a bit, we should be finished some time after 10pm. Its always a great night so make sure you’re there.

Then on Monday week we’ll be hosting Lorelei Rock for our New Year’s Eve celebrations. If you haven’t seen them, they are a fantastic band and well worth seeing. They’ll be rocking through the night and we hope we have as many of you as possible down to enjoy the evening.

And in the meantime we have loads of sport this weekend and through Boxing Day. We start on Saturday at 12.30pm with Arsenal-Burnley on Sky. Then at 3pm the rugger buggers can watch Exeter-Saracens on BT while our normal football results service also starts at 3pm – please be aware that we’ll be setting up for Raffle Night at around that time and that the pool table will be stowed away in the snooker room to make room for this. At 5.30pm we’re back to football with Cardiff-Man Utd on BT. If you’re a glutton for punishment there’s also Hull-Swansea in the Championship on Sky but you’ll have to ask and if we have a crowd in to watch Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s first game you may not get your way.

Then on Sunday we start at 1.30pm with Villa-Leeds on Sky Sports VillaLeeds. We can also put one screen onto the Wasps-Bath rugby on BT but you will need to ask at the bar. At 4pm we’re showing Everton-Spurs on Sky, which will suit Chris Medhurst if he’s not out pounding the pavements delivering our Christmas goodies.

Monday and Tuesday will be quite on the sporting front and Christmas Day has no sport. But on Boxing Day we have an absolute feast of football on.And given there are no trains that day you might as well come in to the Club to watch. We start with Fulham-Wolves at 12.30pm. Then at 3pm its Sheffield United-Derby in the Championship. Its back to the Prem at 5.15pm with Brighton-Arsenal and then at 7.30pm we’re showing Watford-Chelsea. That will be followed by Southampton-West Ham at 7.45pm on Thursday and then we’ll be into a full weekend of sport in which the highlight is probably Liverpool-Arsenal on Saturday afternoon.

But we’ll have more to say about New Year’s Eve weekend after Christmas. We’ll be open at normal hours on Friday, Saturday and Monday, open only from Noon to 2pm on Christmas Day, open from Noon to 11pm on Boxing Day and then back to normal hours in the days running up to the weekend. In the meantime we wish you all a very merry Christmas and we look forward to seeing as many of you in the Club as possible over the next few days.
