We’re nearing the end of our annual festivities and we’d love to see you all in the Club through this weekend.
First of all, New Year’s Eve. We won’t be having a huge extravaganza but we’ll be doing our best to keep you occupied with a music requests evening. If we can find it on the net, as long as its clean, ish, we’ll play it for you. We’ll have other distractions as well, but the idea is we have a traditional night where we do strange stuff like talk to each other – apart from those staring into their phones of course. And of course, it won’t cost you and your guests a penny to get in, whereas pretty well everywhere else will be charging you just for entry. And our prices will match anyone’s.
Of course, if you find yourself kissing Banno when Big Ben strikes, that’s your problem but we are serving to 12.30 pm if you need to wash the taste out.
In the meantime, we have lots of sport coming up on our screens over this weekend. Tonight we’re showing a big Championship match between Cardiff and Preston, which kicks off at 7.45 on Sky.
Then tomorrow we start with the usual results service in the afternoon, before we move on to Man Utd against Southampton on BT1 at 5.30pm. If our resident Wolves fans are interested we can also show their game against Bristol City, which is on Sky at the same time.
Sunday will bring us New Year’s Eve openers in the form of Palace against Man City on BT1 at 12 Noon, which is probably a bit early for our more rampant Palace fans but you never know. After that there is Premiership rugby on BT but the main event prior to New Year’s Eve will be West Brom against Arsenal at 4.30pm on Sky.
For those of you keen to get out and about on New Year’s Day, but too full of alcohol to be able to drive, we’ll be open at Noon, just on time to show Brighton against Bournemouth at 12.30m on Sky – what better climax to a nice end-holiday walk? Then at 3pm we’re showing Leeds-Forest in the Championship before at 5.30pm we have Everton-Man Utd. So we’ve got plenty to keep you occupied when your not celebrating.
Finally, forthcoming events in January. We normally let you have an easy time in January, because you’re all still too skint after the holidays, but we are offering you not one, but two quiz nights. We start next weekend, on Saturday January 6th, with FWB’s Quiz of 2017, asking you all about events and people in 2017 and also a bit about what to expect in 2018. Then on the 3rd Saturday of 2018, January 20th, we’ll have Scally’s normal quiz night.
