A great weekend is coming for you in the Club, with a band playing on Saturday night, a finely poised Ryder Cup, Premiership and Championship football and Grands Prix racing.
Let’s start with the band, Club member Craig Waller is one half of Acoustica, who play a range of heavyish songs acoustically. Richie the singer belts out the songs and Craig plays guitar and it promises to be a great Saturday night in the Club. The band starts at 8.30-ish and will run through to closing time, probably with a break or two along the way, so please come along and enjoy the music.
Then there’s the Ryder Cup, possibly the most closely matched pair of teams for a long time and we’ll be showing it live from opening time through the weekend. For those of you that couldn’t wangle working at home today we’ll also have the highlights on Sky Sports Golf from 6.30-9.00pm tonight and from 10pm. From a European perspective, the afternoon session was a lot better to watch than the morning’s so you can probably get away with coming in from 7.30 and then watching the second highlights programme from 10pm to catch up with the morning’s events.
That’s not all tonight, because we’ll also be showing Sheffield Wednesday-Leeds in the Championship from 7.45pm, that’ll be on whichever screen Banno parks himself in front of.
Tomorrow we kick off with the Ryder Cup at noon. That will stay on one screen through the day and then we’ll have West Ham-Man Utd live on Sky from 12.30pm. After that we’re showing the usual football results from 3pm before at 5.30pm, BT bring us Chelsea-Liverpool, which should be the footballing highlight of the weekend.
On Sunday we start again with the golf at midday on one screen and the Russian Grands Prix starting on the other 10 minutes later. Then at 4pm, we’ll be showing Premiership football between Cardiff-Burnley considered by Sky to be a weak enough game that they can disappear it alongside the Ryder Cup. We’ll show the Ryder Cup highlights at 6.30pm and 10pm.
That’s not the end of the weekend because on Monday night we have a treat for our Palace supporting members, with Sky showing their game away at Bournemouth from 8pm. After that we’ve got a week of European football to look forward to, Brighton-West Ham on Friday and a fantastic weekend of football to follow.
