We have been looking for something to do to celebrate the late Harvey Smith’s life as a member of our Club and we have decided that our annual Christmas golf day would be appropriate, given his love of the game.
So, this year’s Turkey Trot will be held on Friday December 22nd at Slinfold Golf Club. We’ll start with breakfast at 9am, with the first tee time booked for 10.28am, which we hope might even give Mystic a chance to turn up on time. We’re making this an open competition, to all members and friends and it would be lovely to see some of Harvey’s fellow Pyecombe members turn up as well as us. We’ll be awarding prizes for nearest to pin, on two holes, and for longest drive, while there will also be prizes for those that shine and those that don’t, ie the Chair.
So, for the princely sum of £40 per person, you will get a full English breakfast, 18 holes of golf, and prizes. After the golf, we’ll repair to our Club for ales, you’ll need your wallets for that, and prize-giving. And be warned, the fining can be vicious, especially if our President consents to taking over their management.
There is a form in the bar area, on the noticeboard by the fruity. If you’d like to play, all you have to do at the moment is give us your name, and those of any guests, your handicap (s) and pay a £10 deposit for each person. If you’d like to know more about the day please ask either Aaron Adamson, Matt Redmore, or Vince Elphick in the Club, or email this address.
We’re sure this will be a great day, so please hurry to get your names on the list.
