We’re showing the Open on Sky today and right through to its climax tomorrow, so if you want to watch the gpolg in peace, the Club is the place for you.
Next week, cricket is in charge, with plenty of 20/20 action in the evenings, the third test starting on Thursday and a Sussex-Middlesex 20/20 match on Friday evening at 7pm. We’ll be showing the third test, assuming England are still in it, on Saturday and Sunday as well.
Next weekend sees us stage two special events. On Saturday night Richard Ellis will be hosting an Open Mike Night. He has plenty of guests lined up and, of course, members are welcome to have a go as well. But, if you just want to sit and listen, it should be a great night.
Then on Sunday we are supporting a charity stoolball competition. This will be an open day, so members will be able to bring non-members in without going through the rigmarole of signing them in, and we are hoping to enter a team. The idea is to have teams of eight, half of them men and half women, for a fun day in support of cancer charities. The day is being organised by Karen, of Adastra Ladies stoolball club, in memory of her partner Sita Allen. We’ll also be running the barbie, so you can feast on a great selection of burgers and sausages.
We also have raffle tickets to support Sita’s day behind the bar. There are some great prizes available, so please do your best to support us.
More tomorrow on the upcoming football season and Neil Janes’s football prediction competition.
