The Club will be showing some great European football on BT this week, as we enter the run-up to our beer festival, which starts on Saturday – we’ll be circulating tasting notes later in the week but be warned pool players, the pool table will move into the snooker room on Tuesday, so that we can put the stillage up for the ales. The beerfest is for members and their guests only on Saturday and Sunday and to non-members on Bank Holiday Monday.
On our TVs, we start the week tomorrow night with Champions League football, with Spurs-Ajax kicking off at 8pm.
On Wednesday we move on to Barcelona-Liverpool, which should be a fascinating game given the issues that Man City have had playing Liverpool this season. That also kicks off at 8pm.
On Thursday we’re watching Europa Cup football with in-form Arsenal playing Valencia and Chelsea travelling to Eintracht Frankfurt, both games are on BT at 8pm. Thursday also brings us the Wells Fargo golf competition, which will run through to Sunday night on Sky Sports Golf.
We complete the weekend with England-Ireland in a one day international from opening time at 4pm, that’s on Sky. Then at 8pm we are showing Everton-Burnley in the Premiership – well Chris Medhurst might be interested.
That leads us into a bank holiday weekend crammed full of action, as well as ale. On our screens we’ll be able to watch both the league leadership contenders in action, with City on on Saturday lunchtime and Liverpool at the Toon on Sunday afternoon. We also have the final Championship games of the season at the slightly potty time of 12.30pm on Sunday, we’re guessing Sky will show Villa-Norwich but they haven;t said yet.
And please don’t forget, its the May Fair in the park from Noon on Bank Holday Monday and we all work hard to make sure that the Club does its bit towards that. There’s still time to volunteer if you’d like to help.
Finally, some snooker news. The Club will be hosting the Mid-Sussex League Snooker Finals day on May 12th, so no tables will be a available to members through the day.
