We’ve got a great weekend lined up for you in the Club and the weather looks set fair for a nice relaxing couple of days sitting with a pint or a nice cool glass of wine and watching the cricket, or at least the death defying antics of your kids on the skatepark.
We start tonight, with the women’s World Cup, with possibly the two best sides in the competition, France-USA, kicking off their quarter final at 8pm. The winners will play England in the semi final on Tuesday night. We’ll also have the Rocket Mortgage Classic golf on tonight, running every evening through to Sunday night.
Tomorrow we start with a barbie at Noon, which is being organised as a fundraiser by the Hassocks Phoenix junior football team, so if you fancy a burger for lunch, the Club is the place to be, They’ve certainly picked a hot day for it. At the same time we’ll have World Cup cricket on our TVs from opening time but during the day we can split the screens to show Italy-Holland at 2pm and Germany-Sweden in the Women’s World Cup at 5.30pm.
On Sunday we’ll be griping about summer being over already but we’ll have plenty of sport to take our minds off that. We start at Noon with England-India in a must-win cricket world cup match – knowing England this will be a famous victory over the world’s best one day side to set us up for the disappointment in the final group game. Also on Sunday we can show the Austrian Grand Prix at 2.10pm, just ask at the bar. In the evening at 7.45pm we’ll have the European under-21s Final, Germany-Spain – the less said about England’s showing in that competition the better, but it wasn’t Ady Boothroyd’s fault of course.
Next week we have the Women’s World Cup semi-finals on Tuesday and Wednesday at 8pm, we’ll be showing both. We’ll also have the cricket World Cup group games continuing , with England’s final game on Wednesday against New Zealand. On Thursday the 3M golf championships start at 8.30pm and run through the weekend and next Saturday and Sunday the Women’s World Cup finishes, with the third place match on Saturday at 4pm and the final on Sunday at the same time.
