Are you a fencer? We need your help

The Club needs to hire a fencing company to extend our security, having suffered a lot from kids on the roof and broken tiles over the last few months. We’re well aware that we have a number of members who work in fencing, so we thought we’d throw this open to them before we seek suppliers further afield. So if you are looking for fencing work, we’d like to hear from you.

The plan is to extend the fencing we have at the back of the building, removing the old chain link fence that is currently falling apart there. We’re also looking to build fencing a short way along the Adastra Hall side of the building and including a small lockable hatch in the fencing so that we can continue to access an inconveniently placed meter in that area. Finally, we’d like to close off onto the side of the building somewhere between the snooker room fire exit and the back of the building.

The ground at the back won’t be easy because there is a lot of self-seeded scrub there, while we believe the area along the Adastra Hall side of the Club may have a lot of concrete under the grass.

We’d appreciate meeting at the Club to discuss what needs to be done and hearing your ideas on what we need to do. We’d also appreciate some idea of costs, which will need to be firmed up before we can award any contract. We won’t necessarily be awarding on the basis of cheapest bids alone but a competitive quote will help.

If you are interested in this work please email to this address or approach a committee member in the Club. We’ll give you just over two weeks to register your interest and if we haven’t heard anything by close of play Friday July 12th, we will seek help from outside the membership.
