The Club’s snooker competitions will be starting soon and to this end we have put a signing on form on the noticeboard in the snooker room which is closest to the trophy cabinets, turn right as you enter the snooker room. We have handicapped and scratch competitions for both billiards and snooker players, as well as the Watney Shield for the less talented individuals such as your correspondent. If you can find yourself a partner, there are also doubles competitions to enter. All you need to do to enter is put your name and contact details up on the sheet and tick the competitions you’d like to play in. We need your entries in by October 31st, which is a couple of weeks from Monday.
Also, the Club will be sending out Christmas raffle tickets very shortly, along with membership renewal letters. As is the case every year, this means that we need a team of envelope stuffers to get everything ready for posting out. To this end, we will be gathering in the Club on Saturday October 21st, from around 2pm. With enough people, the job normally takes about two hours, which means you should have plenty of time to get away before Southampton-West Brom starts at 5.30pm.
