We have some great events lined up for you in July.
Next Saturday, the 15th, we will be staging our July quiz.The quiz kicks off at 8.30pm, with the questions posed to you by Miss Moneypenny.
Then on Saturday the 29th, Club member Richard Ellis is organising an open mike night. These are always good nights with plenty of entertainment. both for the people playing and for those of us that don’t play. if you fancy having a go at taking part, you’ll be very welcome. If you just want to listen, there’ll be plenty for you to enjoy. Proceedings normally start at about 8.30 and the music runs on to closing time.
That weekend is going to be a busy one because we also have a full day on Sunday 30th. That’s when the Club will be supporting a stoolball event that is being organised in memory of Sita Allen, an old friend of the Club who was recently taken from us by cancer. Her widow Karen is inviting several stoolball teams to take part in the day, which aims to raise funds for cancer charities. The Club is supporting this by opening up to non-members and by running the barbie, with any profits made by the barbie going into the event’s charity pot. Sita, with Karen, was one of a number of Adastra Stoolball Club members, including young Danica, who were big supporters of the Club in their younger days and we are very keen to return the complement, so please make an effort to come down and support it.
