As a part of a review of the Club’s ability to respond to any medical problems that might occur while we’re open, we’d like an idea of who in our membership is a trained first aider, and to what level. As an example, I had to complete a first aid course when I took on the management of a boys team some years ago for Hassocks Juniors. Consequently I have some knowledge, albeit unrefreshed since the late-1990s, that could be useful.
Do you have similar or more extensive first aider training and can you share that with us please?
We’re not planning to get you to commit to taking command, or even to knowing what to do, in the event of a medical emergency. And most of the time the first response we’d expect would be for whoever’s in the Club to call for help from the authorities, but if we can help make someone reasonably comfortable while they’re waiting for an ambulance that would be nice.
