The Club has a couple of big events lined up for you in July/August, with a golf day and Glorious Goodwood coming up.
First of all, our Member’s golf day will be happening on July 28th. We have chosen Seaford Head for this and we will be bringing you a package of Breakfast, 18 holes and then back to the Club for prize-giving and a barbie. We’ll release more details shortly but if you fancy a round of golf on an exceptionally pleasant course, with some excellent views to enjoy if your golf’s going badly, please make sure you block off July 28th. There will be a form up on the noticeboard between the fruity and the bar from tomorrow night so if you fancy this, please put your name down.
Also, we have booked a coach to take us down to the races at Goodwood on August 2nd. On the day, a Friday, we’ll be leaving in the morning and stopping off in Storrington on the way before we get to Goodwood early in the afternoon. Then we’ll enjoy a full programme of racing before we head home, getting back about 9-ish. There is already a form up on the same noticeboard. We know a few of you are discussing going to this but we’d appreciate it if you could put your names up so that we can get an idea of numbers. Please put your names forward as soon as possible.
Also, on our TVs, the week ahead will bring us England in the cricket World Cup on Tuesday against Afghanistan and on Friday against Sri Lanka. Also England’s women will be facing Japan in their World Cup at 8pm on Wednesday and England’s young chaps (under-21s) will be playing France at 8pm on Tuesday and Romania at 5.30pm on Friday.
All or the major competitions that are on this week can also be watched when England teams aren’t playing, just ask at the bar.
There’ll also be the Travellers Championships golf starting on Thursday evening and running through to Sunday noght. Incidentally, the US Open finishes today and we’ll be showing whatever is on during opening hours.
